Multi-Dimensional Breakthroughs Overcoming Traditional Battery Weaknesses

Dr. Cai Tingwei stated that Sunwoda possesses strong capabilities in its consumer battery business, capable of providing full 3C high-end lithium-ion battery solutions with significant advantages across multiple dimensions including energy density, charging speed, product performance, and form factor design. Its semi-solid-state technology, through coordinated innovation in materials, structure, and processes, systematically addresses typical pain points of traditional batteries, forming four core advantages:

Undeterred by Low Temperatures: Leveraging a solid-liquid synergistic mechanism, it maintains over 70% capacity and stable discharge performance even in extreme environments as cold as -30°C, overcoming the poor low-temperature performance of traditional lithium batteries.

Safety Assured: An internal high-strength protective network significantly enhances abuse tolerance, withstanding rigorous tests like crushing and impact, ensuring a 'safety net' for every power usage experience.

Broader Operating Temperature Range: Breaking the limitations of traditional lithium batteries being 'afraid of cold and heat,' it achieves stable operation across a wide temperature range of -30°C to 60°C, perfectly adapting to diverse usage scenarios like home, outdoor, and industrial auxiliary applications.

Simplified Process: Defying the notion that 'high technology equals high cost,' and paired with automated production lines (100% automation rate), it enables rapid transition from 'design finalization to mass production,' with a stable overall process yield rate exceeding 96%.

Full-Chain Systematic Support Enables Rapid Mass Production

The rapid realization of Sunwoda's semi-solid-state batteries stems from systematic capability support across the entire 'R&D - Pilot - Mass Production' chain. In September 2021, the company officially initiated the R&D project. After finalizing the core technology in March 2024, cumulative production surpassed 8 million units, fully demonstrating its leading technology conversion capability and large-scale manufacturing strength.

Regarding key technology breakthroughs, Sunwoda systematically studied the structure-property relationship between the composition/microstructure of solid electrolyte materials and their performance, and deeply explored the synergistic interaction mechanism between the solid and liquid phases. This identified the key performance optimization path for semi-solid-state batteries and the design scheme for interface regulation. Building on this, by optimizing the slurry preparation process, challenges like agglomeration and uniform dispersion of ultrafine powders were solved, achieving efficient, high-quality production of semi-solid-state batteries. To date, over 70 patents related to consumer semi-solid-state battery technology have been applied for.

In the future, Sunwoda will continue to iteratively upgrade its solid-state technology towards adapting to batteries with high energy density (≥1000 Wh/L), high capacity (≥10 Ah), and high voltage (≥4.60 V).

The company has successfully verified the mass production feasibility of semi-solid-state technology in the consumer battery field. Currently, these products are widely used in consumer electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptops, wearables, power banks, and drones.
