Tesla's first one-piece press moulding technology was applied to a charging pile developed and manufactured by the Chinese team.
On April 3, Tesla launched the upgraded cyber vault charger on the market. This charging pile is locally designed, locally developed and locally manufactured by Tesla's local team in China, combining various factors such as installation environment, power conditions and usage scenarios of car owners, tailored for Chinese car owners.
It is understood that the function of the car charger focuses on "one machine, two uses", i.e. it can consider both home and travel car scenarios. When travelling, users can disassemble the main body of the charger. With the special adapter, the charging pile can be charged with the car, which indirectly expands the radius of using the vehicle.
However, to achieve the function of portable on board charger, it is necessary to overcome storage and safety problems. To create a convenient storage and solid protective case for the charging pile, the Tesla China team, for the first time, applied the one-piece stamping and forming technology to the charging rise and selected high-strength low, carbon steel material to make the shell more resistant to impact, its mechanical impact resistance rating exceeds ik10, equivalent to withstand the result of a 5kg weight falling from a height of 1 meter and protect the charging components inside from harm.
For this new product, Tesla launched a free installation of a charging pile and 30 meters of cable and other services. After the charging pile mass production market, Tesla plans to continue to iterate and upgrade the product and subsequently achieve charging to third-party vehicles.
Tesla said that as of early March 2023, Tesla has laid out more than 1,500 supercharging stations and more than 10,000 supercharging piles in mainland China, more than 700 destination charging stations and more than 1,900 destination charging banks, and formed a "15-minute charging" circle of life in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and other places. The "15-minute charging" circle of life has been created in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
