On September 25, CORNEX NEW ENERGY CO., LTD. hosted a new product launch event in Yichang, where Executive Vice President Bu Xiangnan introduced the company’s next-generation high-capacity energy storage battery—the 588Ah. The moment was witnessed by Chairman Dai Deming, President Huang Feng, and hundreds of partners, financial institutions, and media representatives.

This release marks another major milestone in CORNEX’s “Renewal” strategy, powered by new equipment, production lines, processes, and technologies. It underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to R&D and its leading role in energy storage innovation—signaling that CORNEX’s large-capacity battery technology has entered a new phase.

As a dedicated innovator in the global energy storage sector, CORNEX has always focused on creating value for customers, driving continuous product upgrades and technological progress. From the 280Ah, 306Ah, and 314Ah to the 472Ah, each new product has not only raised technical benchmarks but also delivered precise solutions to evolving market and customer demands.

The new 588Ah battery embodies years of R&D accumulation in materials, structural design, and smart manufacturing. Pushing the limits of winding technology, it achieves a single-cell capacity of 588Ah, with a gravimetric energy density of 190Wh/kg, volumetric energy density of 419Wh/L, and energy efficiency of 96.5%—all ranking among the best in the industry.

Beyond impressive specs, the 588Ah cell delivers three standout advantages: high reliability, high safety, and long lifespan.

- High Reliability: Building on the proven material system and manufacturing process of the mass-produced 472Ah cell, the 588Ah’s core reliability is pre-verified. This reduces new product risks, ensures consistent quality, and enables fast mass production.  

- High Safety: CORNEX has built a full-stack safety system covering prevention, control, and protection. Innovative materials lower the risk of internal short circuits and lithium plating, while a patented directional pressure-release design allows millisecond-level venting of high-temperature gases.  

- Long Lifespan: Leveraging multi-level cathode particle control, a reinforced anode skeleton, and self-healing electrolyte technology, the cell resists degradation, achieving over 12,000 cycles with strong capacity retention.

Alongside the cell, CORNEX also launched the 588-CTP2.0 energy storage PACK solution and the highly modular “Transformer” system platform.

The CTP2.0 solution uses a simplified module-free design, cutting material types and usage by 20%. A single PACK reaches 170Wh/kg by weight and 285Wh/L by volume—among the highest globally. A 1,000°C-resistant isolation layer prevents thermal runaway from spreading, elevating safety from cell to system level. CORNEX’s unique “absorb-and-protect” process also boosts production efficiency by 35%, supporting high-volume delivery.

The “Transformer” platform, true to its name, offers high modularity, flexible configuration, and rapid deployment. It supports 3.13MWh per 10-foot container and 6.26MWh per 20-foot container. Like building blocks, the system can be scaled and adapted for power generation, grid, or large-scale commercial and industrial applications—improving scenario adaptability, shortening delivery time, and providing integrated tailored solutions.

At gigawatt-scale deployment, the platform can reduce land use by 20%, cut the number of prefab cabins by 27%, and lower operational costs by over 20%.
