On July 23, The 1st SNE Battery Day hosted by SNE Research was held in Seoul, South Korea, and Dr. Ren Ren of the Central Research Institute of Yi Wei Lithium Energy (300014) was invited to attend and delivered a keynote speech "EVE ultrafine charging Technology Introduction", which attracted wide attention from participants.
At the meeting, Dr. Ren Ren first analyzed the current situation of the new energy vehicle market, pointing out that consumers generally have concerns about charging time and driving range. Although the battery life of some models on the market has exceeded 400km, or even reached 1000km, the charging speed is generally slow, taking more than 30 minutes, which highlights the urgency of developing fast charging technology. Although the current mainstream fast charge technology can charge the battery in a relatively short time, it often needs to sacrifice part of the energy density, and the power battery usually has to weigh "fast charge" and "high specific energy".
Dr. Ren Ren said that in response to the above pain points, EVE has begun to develop both fast charge and high specific energy battery technology since 2018, through a number of innovations such as high hole straight thick electrode, EC-Free electrolyte, ultra-thin superconducting diaphragm, silicon surface stabilization, etc., making EVE cell have multiple advantages such as ultra-fast charge and high specific energy. Target the core needs of new energy vehicle users.
Under the test conditions, EVE ultrafine charging technology products have excellent performance. After 1500 weeks of 1C/1C cycle, the cell capacity remains over 80%, and there is no attenuation in the 6-minute ultra-fast charging cycle, showing zero damage to the cell, meeting the service life requirements of passenger cars. At the same time, the technology has excellent high and low temperature discharge performance, in the low temperature environment of -20℃, the battery capacity retention rate can still reach more than 80%, which can effectively solve the problem of vehicle endurance in winter. In terms of storage performance, compared with Gr+SiO products of the control group, the voltage drop rate under full charge is comparable to that of the existing battery system, which reduces the power loss when the vehicle is parked for a long time. In addition, the product has passed the UN38.3 certification to ensure the safety of use.
In practical applications, compared with the commercial 50Ah battery, the 50Ah battery developed by EVE can reach 60% power in only 6 minutes, shorten 80% of the time, increase the energy density by 18%, can achieve 6 minutes of charging, and increase the range by 500 kilometers, which is expected to bring convenient and efficient vehicle experience for users of new energy vehicles.
