
Queensland, Australia, August 12th –HiTHIUM, a global leader in energy storage technology, has entered into a supply agreement with Global Power Generation (GPG), NATURGY Group’s international renewable energy arm, to provide a 421MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) for the Fraser Coast project in Queensland, Australia.
Under the contract, HiTHIUM will supply 84 liquid-cooled BESS units and will also be responsible for system design, manufacturing, factory acceptance testing (FAT), Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) delivery, commissioning, technical support, and training. Drawing on its integrated end-to-end delivery model and extensive global experience with utility-scale storage projects, HiTHIUM offers complete system integration services that support clients throughout the entire project lifecycle—from engineering and system integration to commissioning and long-term technical assistance. This approach has helped establish HiTHIUM as a trusted partner for large-scale energy storage developments. The agreement also represents the first utility-scale collaboration between HiTHIUM and GPG, laying a foundation for future cooperation as Australia’s battery storage market continues to grow alongside renewable energy deployment.
The Fraser Coast BESS is an AC-coupled storage project connected to the 33kV switchgear of an adjacent solar farm, enabling it to charge from either the solar facility or the grid. Equipped with grid-forming capabilities, the system will provide energy arbitrage and Frequency Control Ancillary Services (FCAS), contributing to grid stability, improving operational flexibility, and supporting higher levels of renewable energy integration.
