
From January 13 to 15, the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) took place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. As a globally leading provider of integrated energy storage solutions and services for full-scenario applications, HiTHIUM presented a comprehensive range of energy storage products, showcasing its system-level capabilities across diverse usage scenarios. A key highlight was the debut of its ∞Power 6.9MWh 8-hour long-duration energy storage (LDES) system—designed to deliver round-the-clock green power—alongside its core enabler, the ∞Cell 1300Ah 8-hour dedicated LDES cell. This exhibition marked the first international showcase of HiTHIUM’s 8-hour long-duration energy storage solution.
With renewable energy capacity growing rapidly across the Middle East, power systems increasingly require long-duration flexibility, day-night balancing, and stable operation under high temperatures. In response, HiTHIUM has developed a system-level LDES solution covering cell design, system architecture, and safety frameworks, providing robust support for building resilient, all-weather green power systems in the region.
The ∞Power 6.9MWh BESS features a new architecture tailored specifically for 8-hour LDES applications, delivering enhanced cost efficiency, operational performance, and safety. By minimizing redundant structural components, the system cuts material costs and improves assembly efficiency. Its intelligent control system and end-to-end active balancing strategy reduce auxiliary power consumption by over 30%, increase temperature control accuracy by 20%, and improve balancing capability by approximately 20 times compared to conventional solutions. The system also integrates high-strength steel band reinforcement, a dual pressure-relief venting design, and next-generation insulation materials, enabling stable operation under extreme conditions of up to 800°C and 300 kPa pressure.
As the core of native 8-hour long-duration storage, the ∞Cell 1300Ah dedicated LDES cell achieves breakthroughs in capacity, safety, and cycle life. With a single-cell capacity of 1300Ah—more than four times that of mainstream cells—it reduces system components by over 30%, effectively lowering upfront investment costs. A multi-level safety protection system ensures non-propagation of thermal runaway, while HiTHIUM’s proprietary ultra-thick electrode technology enhances performance and cost-effectiveness by tackling challenges such as electrode cracking and electrolyte infiltration.
During the summit, HiTHIUM Energy Storage held a signing ceremony with Infinity Power to supply a 120 MWh energy storage system for the Nefer Benban project in Aswan, Egypt. This agreement further expands HiTHIUM’s large-scale energy storage footprint in the MENA region, strengthening local renewable integration and grid stability.
