December 12, Xiamen, China — As long-duration energy storage (LDES) takes a central role in addressing renewable intermittency and delivering all-weather green power, HiTHIUM successfully held its third Eco-Day on December 12 under the theme “The Awakening of Energy · The New World.” The gathering brought together global LDES experts, AI data center (AIDC) industry leaders, and partners from across the energy ecosystem. The event also served as the global launch platform for three major innovations: the ∞Power8 6.9MW/55.2MWh 8-hour-native solution, the ∞Cell 1300Ah dedicated 8-hour LDES cell, and the ∞Power Solutions for AI Data Center—a full-duration hybrid lithium-sodium energy storage system.

LDES Emerges as Strategic Enabler for All-Weather Green Power

In his opening address, HiTHIUM Co-founder and CEO Jason Wang highlighted that the key to transforming green power from “weather-dependent” to “stable and easy-to-use” lies in energy storage, particularly LDES. To advance this vision, HiTHIUM officially launched the “All-Weather Green Power · 135 Lighthouse Plan.” This five-year initiative centers on LDES and is guided by the mission of co-creating a new world of continuously available green energy. Three Breakthrough Technologies Signal Future of LDES and AI Infrastructure

As the core highlight of Eco-Day, HiTHIUM introduced three groundbreaking technologies:

- ∞Power8 6.9MW/55.2MWh — the world’s first 8-hour-native LDES solution, designed for all-weather renewable smoothing, multi-hour load shifting, and stable green power delivery.

- ∞Cell 1300Ah Dedicated 8-Hour Cell — a next-generation high-capacity cell that enables deep 8-hour cycling, over 20 years of service life, enhanced safety, and significantly lower levelized cost of energy (LCOE).

- ∞Power Solutions for AI Data Center — the industry’s first lithium-sodium full-duration solution, combining long-duration lithium storage with high-rate sodium-ion technology for millisecond-level response, addressing AIDCs’ dual needs for lasting stability and instantaneous power support.

AIDC in the Spotlight: Exploring Energy Pathways and Releasing a Joint Bluebook

At the AIDC roundtable hosted by HiTHIUM Board Member and Vice President Dr. Nazar Yi, experts from telecom operators, data center firms, and industry associations explored whether LDES is the “missing piece” for enabling zero-carbon AIDCs. Participants noted that AIDCs face growing tension between surging computing demand and limited energy supply, and that lithium-based LDES represents a crucial pathway to enhance stability, reduce costs, and support scalable development.

The event also saw the joint release of the 2025 China AIDC Energy Storage Bluebook, co-published by HiTHIUM and leading industry organizations. The report outlines AIDC energy consumption trends, evolving battery backup unit (BBU) requirements, and the rising importance of LDES in easing AIDC energy constraints, offering detailed analysis from industry needs to deployment strategies.

Accelerating AI-Energy Integration and Fostering an Open LDES Ecosystem

In closing, HiTHIUM Founder and President Jeff Wu emphasized that energy storage must match wind and solar not only in lifespan but also in cost. To achieve this, HiTHIUM will focus on four priorities: developing ultra-large, high-safety, long-life cells; building safer, more integrated, and efficient systems; advancing intelligent manufacturing; and delivering fully integrated energy storage solutions.
