ProLogium took home a Gold Edison Award in the Battery Materials & Manufacturing category on April 16 during the Edison Awards gala in Fort Myers, Florida. This marks the company’s third Edison honor, this time for its Gen 4 Superfluidized All-Inorganic Solid-State Lithium Ceramic Battery. The recognition spotlights ProLogium’s sustained work to push solid-state battery technology forward across safety, materials, and manufacturing.
The Gen 4 platform is built on a superfluidized all-inorganic electrolyte, an all-ceramic separator, and a 100% silicon anode. Since receiving its first Edison Award in 2021 for Active Safety Mechanism (ASM) materials, ProLogium has steadily refined both materials and cell architecture. Key milestones include an ASM-embedded solid-state electrolyte (2022–2024) and a 2025 superfluidization breakthrough that creates strong interfacial contact and high electrical performance without external pressure.
Three major performance leaps define the Gen 4 technology:
- Interfacial stability and high conductivity under zero external pressure – The superfluidized electrolyte reaches a near-unity transference number and an ionic conductivity of 57 mS/cm, over five times that of conventional systems, while operating pressure-free.
- High energy density, ultra-fast charging, and low-temperature resilience – The cells achieve 860 Wh/L volumetric energy density, support 60–80% charge in 4–6 minutes, and maintain 90% of room-temperature performance at –20 °C.
- Dual-function electrolyte for built-in safety – The nonflammable electrolyte can release ASM in situ under mechanical stress, passivating active materials to prevent thermal runaway and enabling cell energy densities from 860 to 940 Wh/L.
ProLogium stresses that its platform balances safety, performance, cost, and manufacturability. The electrolyte uses no rare materials, is recyclable, and can be produced with industrial-grade inputs. Manufacturing requires 30–40% fewer steps and reduces dry-room needs by 60–70%, supporting faster scale-up.
The company plans to roll out this technology across electric vehicles, energy storage, aerospace, eVTOL, maritime, robotics, and large-scale systems. Founder and CEO Vincent Yang said the award reflects the company’s commitment to “building a reliable, scalable, and sustainable path to industrialization” as it helps drive global energy and transportation shifts.
