The ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week (ASEW) 2025, Southeast Asia's premier renewable energy exhibition, was held from July 2-4 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok. Co-organized by UBM Asia, Informa Markets Thailand, and the Thai government, the event brought together industry leaders to showcase cutting-edge sustainable energy solutions.
Among the key participants, SVOLT Energy presented its next-generation energy storage systems, featuring innovative Short Blade Cell technology, tailored to meet the region's growing demand for efficient and localized energy storage solutions.
SVOLT's energy storage solutions leverage proprietary Laminated Stacking Technology, which enhances cell consistency by 35%, reduces separator wrinkling risk by 60%, and extends cycle life. This breakthrough supports two flagship products:
● 268kWh-CTR Commercial & Industrial ESS
■ The industry’s first cell-to-rack design, improving structural strength by 30% and reducing component count by 36%.
■ 10% lower material costs and 6% higher system utilization, supporting over 10,000 charge-discharge cycles.
● 5MWh Liquid-Cooled Utility-Scale ESS
■ Dual-layer cooling increases energy throughput by 10% over its lifespan.
■ DNV-certified for 20-year operation, ideal for peak shaving and grid frequency regulation.
Designed for high-temperature and high-humidity conditions, the 5MWh ESS reduces thermal differentials by 50% through dual-sided cooling. Future upgrades will include nitrogen-based fire suppression for enhanced safety. Additionally, modular Short Blade Cell designs optimize transportation efficiency, offering 10% higher return on investment (ROI) over the system’s lifecycle and 60% better maintenance efficiency.
SVOLT is deepening its localization strategy in Thailand through a three-phase approach:
1. Battery pack production
2. Energy storage system (ESS) assembly
3. Cell manufacturing
This aligns with Thailand’s EV3.5 policy, promoting electric vehicle adoption. SVOLT’s joint venture factory in Chonburi recently celebrated its 10,000th EV battery pack, achieving a 99.9% production yield rate and supplying Great Wall Motor vehicles.
Furthering its commitment, SVOLT is collaborating with Banpu NEXT to establish ESS pack assembly lines and explore local cell production feasibility under its 3C/3T strategy. Additionally, partnerships with Rajamangala University of Technology Isan (RMUTI) and Banpu NEXT are advancing workforce development and pilot projects in integrated solar-storage-charging solutions.
With global deployment expertise and a localized supply chain, SVOLT is playing a pivotal role in advancing sustainable energy infrastructure across Southeast Asia. By combining technological leadership, climate adaptability, and regional partnerships, the company is helping drive the transition toward a greener, more resilient energy grid.
