Tesla is officially rolling out its first V4 Supercharging stations in China, introducing a faster, more powerful, and more inclusive charging solution to the world’s largest electric vehicle market.

The V4 Supercharger represents Tesla’s most advanced charging technology to date, designed to meet the growing demands of next-generation EVs and third-party brands. The latest units are equipped with high-performance V4 charging cabinets and support a wider range of vehicle types through a robust 400V–1000V electrical architecture.

Faster, Smarter Charging

Tesla’s V4 Superchargers deliver up to:

● 500 kW of peak power for passenger EVs

● 1.2 megawatts when charging the Tesla Semi truck

This leap in performance significantly reduces charging times and offers a seamless experience for Tesla owners and, for the first time in China, a growing number of third-party electric vehicles.

Powered by Local Manufacturing

The new V4 infrastructure is backed by Tesla’s Supercharger factory in Shanghai, which has an annual capacity of up to 10,000 V3 Superchargers. Integrating V4 production at this facility will enable Tesla to accelerate deployment across China and other markets, ensuring faster delivery and greater scalability.

Expanding China's EV Charging Network

Tesla continues to invest heavily in China’s fast-charging ecosystem:

● Over 11,500 Tesla Superchargers are currently in operation across mainland China

● Tesla’s network covers 100% of provincial capitals and major municipalities

● Tesla owners in China now benefit from a near 1:2 car-to-charger ratio

● China’s total public EV chargers have exceeded 3.46 million, surpassing the number of fuel pumps
