Charge the forklift safely and reliably with the forklift charger

Note 1: Master the charging time of the forklift battery properly

Charge your forklift battery when it reaches 20% to 30% discharge.  Because this is the red area for forklift battery charging. If one is Waiting here, this point can cause damage to the battery.

Note 2: Try to avoid having the battery discharge of the forklift lower than 20%

If the battery discharge is less than 20%, negative performance issues may be encountered, such as:

● Accumulation of sulfation

● Battery overheating

● Stratification

These effects can cause damage to forklifts, increase battery maintenance costs and shorten battery life.

Among them, sulfonation can cause very serious consequences.

● Sulfuric acid acidifies the battery, and the sulfuric acid has already flowed down from the side of the battery casing

● Sulfation refers to the process where sulfuric acid in the electrolyte adheres to the battery plates during discharge.

When the battery:

● It hasn't been charged for some time

● The water level is too low and the electrolyte is too concentrated

● Being in a state of exhaustion for a long time (discharging)

● If the accumulated sulfates are ignored, the surface area of the battery where chemical reactions occur will harden and decrease.

When this situation occurs, the performance of the battery will be impaired.

So, how can sulfonation be prevented?

Charge the forklift battery correctly.

This is because charging reverses the sulfuric acid acidification process by driving the sulfate on the plate back to the electrolyte acid.

Note 3: Remove the forklift battery only after it reaches 100% of its charge

Remember never to interrupt the battery charging unless it has reached 100 percent. Because batteries have a limited number of charging cycles.

For instance, lead-acid forklift batteries have approximately 1,500 cycles.

Moreover, they cannot distinguish between fully charged and half-charged. So, each time you charge, it consumes a charging cycle, whether it's an hour of charging or a full charge.

When you have used up one charging unit in the battery "bank", you can no longer take it back.

Therefore, each interruption of charging will shorten the battery's service life.
