At its Open Day event, CATL introduced Shenxing Pro, the world’s first lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery capable of sustaining high-voltage output, maintaining power after thermal runaway, and ensuring zero fire or smoke emissions. Engineered specifically for the European market, Shenxing Pro establishes new benchmarks in safety, service life, range, and ultra-fast charging—making it the ideal choice for Europe’s rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) sector.

Meeting the Demands of Europe’s EV Market

The adoption of electric vehicles in Europe continues to gain momentum. Data from SNE and MarkLines shows that EV penetration increased from 23% to 26% in the first half of 2025, with an expected year-end rate of 29%. The International Energy Agency (IEA) forecasts EV sales in Europe to reach 4 million units in 2025, up from 3.2 million in 2024.  

Despite this growth, consumer concerns persist. According to McKinsey’s 2025 Consumer Mobility Pulse Survey, major barriers include high costs, limited battery lifespan, range anxiety, insufficient charging infrastructure, and safety issues. Shenxing Pro is designed to overcome these challenges with performance and safety features tailored to Europe’s diverse driving conditions.

Breakthrough Technology Redefining E-Mobility

Shenxing Pro incorporates CATL’s proprietary NP 3.0 Technology, representing a major leap in battery innovation through holistic improvements in chemistry, mechanical structure, system integration, and control. It is available in two configurations:  

- Shenxing Pro Super Long Life & Long Range Battery: The world’s first LFP battery offering a 758 km WLTP range and an industry-leading lifespan of 12 years or 1,000,000 km. With only 9% degradation after 200,000 km, it is ideally suited for Europe’s leasing markets.  

- Shenxing Pro Super-Fast Charging Battery: Delivers 478 km of WLTP range in just 10 minutes—equivalent to 0.8 km per second—making it Europe’s leading ultra-fast-charging LFP solution. It supports 830 kW peak power and enables 0–100 km/h acceleration in 2.5 seconds even at 20% state of charge (SOC). The battery also performs reliably in extreme cold, achieving 410 km of range after 20 minutes of charging at –20°C. Backed by a 10-year / 240,000 km warranty, it sets a new standard for charging speed and durability.  

Both variants feature CATL’s NP 3.0 Technology—the culmination of seven years of innovation in No Propagation safety. NP 3.0 ensures continuous high-voltage supply for over one hour after thermal runaway, maintains vehicle speed to enable safe evacuation, and prevents fire and smoke emissions. As L3 and L4 autonomous driving systems assume greater accident responsibility, Shenxing Pro provides uninterrupted power and system stability to meet heightened safety requirements.  

Shenxing Pro also utilizes CATL’s innovative Wave cells, which incorporate a raised shoulder design and space-sharing technology. This allows cooling and fixation from any direction—a global first—enhancing omnidirectional vibration resistance, increasing pack stiffness by 25%, and doubling overall durability. With a record-breaking 76% volume efficiency, the battery overcomes traditional Cell-to-Body (CTB) limitations, redefining EV performance through superior safety, extended range, longevity, and ultra-fast charging.
