On May 28, 2025, EVE Energy marked a significant milestone in its energy storage initiatives by supporting Huaneng Lancang River Hydropower Co., Ltd. (Huaneng Lancang River Company) in the successful grid connection and operation of its first shared energy storage project: the Chuxiong 200MW/400MWh Shared Energy Storage Construction Project. This achievement represents a breakthrough in Huaneng Lancang River Company’s new energy storage initiatives in Yunnan, contributing to the optimization of the regional energy structure.
Located in Lühe Town, Chuxiong City, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, the Chuxiong energy storage project spans an area of approximately 22,780 m². With a capacity of 200MW/400MWh, the project aims to enhance the region's energy infrastructure. To meet the specific needs of this project, EVE Energy supplied 40 energy storage units, each with a capacity of 5MW/10MWh.
EVE Energy demonstrated exceptional capabilities during the project’s execution. Within just over 40 days, the company completed production and delivery of the storage units. Dynamic debugging was completed in just two days, and by May 28, the system achieved full-power charging and discharging.
The performance of the energy storage system exceeded expectations: after grid connection, the system’s initial charging capacity reached 440 MWh, surpassing the rated capacity by 10%. This demonstrates the high performance and reliability of EVE Energy’s battery cells, ensuring the stable operation of the system.
The Chuxiong shared energy storage project serves as a demonstration project for the region. The system is designed to charge during off-peak hours and discharge during peak hours, mitigating fluctuations in energy supply. This will significantly increase the local capacity for renewable energy consumption and improve grid stability. Additionally, the system is capable of rapidly responding to peak-shaving and frequency regulation demands.
The use of the "sharing economy" model in this project enables optimal resource allocation, improving the flexibility and economic efficiency of the regional power grid.
