On September 8, the world’s first 400MWh energy storage station powered by 628Ah large-scale batteries was successfully integrated into the grid on its first attempt.
As a pioneer in large-capacity battery energy storage systems, EVE Energy has set another industry benchmark. Following the launch and mass production of its 628Ah battery, the company has now deployed the technology at scale in the Luingshou Ruite New Energy Project. This milestone underscores EVE Energy’s end-to-end capability—from R&D and manufacturing to real-world implementation—paving the way for a new phase of technology-driven growth in the energy storage sector.
Amid the global shift toward clean energy, energy storage is expanding rapidly in scale and commercialization. Surpassing the 600Ah threshold has become crucial to boosting system energy density, cutting lifecycle costs, and improving safety and reliability.
The Luingshou 200MW/400MWh independent energy storage project—developed jointly by EVE Energy and Beijing State Grid Power Technology Co., Ltd.—achieved grid connection on September 8. It is the world’s first hundred-megawatt-level facility to utilize 628Ah batteries, proving the commercial viability of large-format storage solutions and establishing a new industry standard.
EVE Energy delivered and connected 80 sets of its Mr. Giant 5MWh energy storage systems (equipped with 628Ah batteries) along with 40 power conversion units—all within one week. This demonstrates the company’s strong end-to-end execution capabilities in delivering ultra-large storage projects. From quality control and system integration to commissioning and operational support, EVE Energy has verified the maturity and feasibility of its large-cell technology.
As the first operational hundred-megawatt-level station using such large batteries, the project provides invaluable real-world experience for future large-scale deployments. It will substantially strengthen grid peak-shaving and frequency regulation, reinforce power supply reliability and renewable integration, and support Hebei Province’s energy transition and carbon reduction goals.
On September 10, the first batch of Mr. Giant 5MWh energy storage systems equipped with 628Ah batteries were shipped to Australia and Europe. The Mr. Giant system features a simplified design, high integration, and environmental benefits—including noise levels as low as 65 dB—making it ideal for long-duration storage applications of four hours or more. Its acceptance in international markets signals the arrival of a new global era for large battery energy storage systems.
From the successful commissioning of the first 400MWh project to the batch export of containerized systems, EVE Energy has not only advanced the 628Ah battery from product leadership to market application but has also accelerated the industry's shift toward greater efficiency, economy, and reliability.
Looking ahead, EVE Energy will continue to pursue a dual strategy of technological innovation and manufacturing excellence, collaborating with partners worldwide to advance the global transition to green energy.
