Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, January 29, 2026 – In a significant move marking its strategic expansion into Southeast Asia’s critical infrastructure sector, EVE Energy Co., Ltd., alongside its partners, has formally secured the contract for the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) solar-plus-storage initiative. The signing ceremony, attended by Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister YAB Dato' Sri Haji Fadillah Yusof, underscores the project’s national importance.
This landmark project represents EVE Energy’s inaugural integrated AC/DC energy storage deployment in Malaysia. The company will supply its high-capacity 628Ah energy storage batteries and a 5MWh energy storage system as part of a comprehensive 10MW/36MWh ground-mounted solar photovoltaic and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solution. The highly integrated system architecture is engineered for applications including renewable energy grid integration, peak shaving, and grid frequency regulation.
Scheduled for commissioning in 2027, the system will work in tandem with a 36MWp solar farm to provide a stable supply of green power to KLIA’s main terminal, enhancing the airport's energy resilience and sustainability profile.
"We are honored to partner with KLIA, a world-class aviation hub, to support Malaysia's clean energy transition," stated Oscar Chan, General Manager of International Energy Storage Sales at EVE Energy. "Leveraging our technical expertise and proven project execution capabilities, we are committed to ensuring the high-quality and timely delivery of this strategic project."
As Southeast Asia's second-busiest airport, serving approximately 60 million passengers annually, KLIA’s adoption of this technology aligns with Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and its ambitious carbon reduction targets. EVE Energy’s safe and efficient storage solution is projected to reduce carbon emissions by an estimated 42,006 tonnes annually, significantly advancing KLIA’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2030.
Moving forward, EVE Energy reaffirms its commitment to strengthening partnerships across the Southeast Asian region. The company will continue to collaborate with global stakeholders to accelerate the transition to clean energy and contribute to building a sustainable energy ecosystem.
